How do I Cancel a SNCF European Rail Booking? (UK)

If your fare allows cancellations, you can cancel all or part of your rail journey directly within Melon.

1. Open your booking

Access your booking from:

  • My Trips

  • Your booking confirmation

Select the booking you wish to cancel.


2. Select ‘Cancel Train’

Click Cancel Train to begin the cancellation process.


3. Select the journey leg(s) to cancel

Tick the checkbox(es) for the section(s) of the journey you wish to cancel.

You can also click the ticket type to review:

  • Refund conditions

  • Fare rules

  • Cancellation restrictions

Once complete, click Continue.


4. Review refund details

A pop-up window will display:

  • Any cancellation fees

  • The refund amount due (if applicable)

Review the details carefully before proceeding.


5. Confirm cancellation

If you are happy to continue, click Confirm Cancellation.

Once completed:

  • Your booking will show as cancelled in your Trip Library

  • Any eligible refund will be processed

  • You will receive a cancellation confirmation email within 24 hours


Heads up!

Refunds and cancellations depend on the original ticket type and fare conditions. Some fares may be:

  • Non-refundable

  • Subject to supplier fees

  • Restricted from cancellation

Always review the fare conditions carefully before confirming your cancellation.
