Melon Multi-Factor Authentication

A New, Safer Way to Sign In

Written by Jock Stark

What has changed?

To help keep your account secure, Melon now asks for a quick second step after your password when you sign in. This is called multi-factor authentication (MFA). It means that even if someone else got hold of your password, they still couldn't get into your account without access to your email.

This change applies to accounts that sign in with email and password. If you login using your company’s single sign-on (SSO) provider, your login experience is not changing.

How to sign in now

1. Enter your email and password as usual. A new page will come up saying to check your inbox.

2. Check your email inbox — we'll send you an email with a Sign-In button and a 6-digit code.

3. From the email, either:

  1. Click the Sign-In button: this logs you into Melon in a new window on the device where you opened your email

  2. Copy the 6-digit code into the Melon window you originally logged in as: this logs you into Melon in the same window

4. You're in!

Frequently Asked Questions

Question

Answer

I didn't get the email.

Check your spam or junk folder for a message from [email protected]. If your company filters email, ask your IT team to whitelist this address. You can also select "Resend email" on the code screen.

My code says it's expired.

Codes and links are valid for 10 minutes. Just request a new one — the "Resend email" link will send a fresh code.

Do I have to do this every time I log in?

Yes.

Is this safe? Why do you need my email again?

Yes. Requiring access to your email as well as your password means a stolen or guessed password on its own can't be used to get into your account.

What if I lose access to my email?

Contact your travel consultant or your admin team so they can help verify your identity and update your account details.

Does this affect how I book trips?

No — this only affects how you sign in. Booking, itineraries, and everything else in Melon work exactly as before.
