The mobile booking process follows the same steps as booking through the Melon website, with the added benefit of accessing mobile-only supplier rates, such as those available through Booking.com.
Hotel booking options may vary depending on your company setup, traveller permissions, supplier restrictions and travel policy.
How to start a hotel booking
Open the Melon Mobile App.
Go to the booking area.
Select Hotels.
Enter your hotel search criteria
To begin your search, complete the required fields.
Destination
You can search by:
City name.
Airport.
Specific airport code.
Specific hotel name.
Postcode or zip code.
Company office location, where loaded by your company.
Company office locations can be added by your Melon admin to help travellers find hotels close to regular office locations.
Dates
Enter your required check-in and check-out dates.
Traveller
If you are a Travel Arranger, select the traveller you are booking on behalf of.
Rooms & Guests
Only one room can be selected at a time.
The default is usually one guest per room. Up to four guests can be added to one room if needed.



Review hotel search results
Once your results load, you can review available hotels using the results list or map view.
Hotel search results will show:
Recommended Spend Policy for your chosen city and dates
Best available nightly rate for each hotel
Distance from your search location
Snapshot of facilities
Policy messages
Preferred hotel indicators, where used by your company
Use filters to narrow your results
Filters help you find the most suitable hotel.
You can filter by:
Price
Set a minimum or maximum price.
Rate type
Filter by payment type or booking conditions, such as Pay Now, Pay Later, prepaid or non-refundable rates.
Distance
Set a preferred search radius from your chosen location.
Amenities
Search for hotels with facilities such as breakfast, gym, accessible rooms or free parking.
Star rating
Choose the star rating you want to view.
Additional filters
You can also filter by sustainability, loyalty programme and hotel chains.
Sort your hotel results
Depending on your company setup, your results may already be sorted based on company travel policy. For example, the lowest available rate or company-preferred options may appear first.
You can also sort by:
Recommended.
Cheapest.
Closest.
Biggest discount.
Preferred hotels.
These options can help you compare hotels based on price, distance, company preference or available discounts.
Select a hotel
When you find a suitable hotel, select from the list. This will take you through to the room and rate options.
Here, you will see an overview of the property, including:
Hotel images
Location
Available amenities
Room types
Available rates
Cancellation conditions
Inclusions, such as free Wi-Fi or breakfast
Review the room and rate options carefully before selecting.

Choose the option that best matches your travel needs and company policy.
Complete checkout
At checkout, review all details before confirming.
Double check:
Traveller name.
Hotel name and address.
Check-in and check-out dates.
Room type.
Rate, taxes and fees.
Cancellation terms.
Payment method.
Required company fields, such as project code or reason for travel.



And when you are happy - click Checkout
Confirm your hotel booking
Once the booking is complete, you will receive a confirmation.
Review your confirmation and check that all details are correct.
You can also add other travel products to your booking, such as another hotel, car hire or UK rail. Keeping everything on one itinerary makes it easier to manage in your Trip Library.



You can access your booking again through your trip details in Melon.
